Foreign Electricity Converter

Russia Power Adapters and Electricity Converters

The Russian Federation (Russia) has electricity at 230 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. Outlets in Russia will be one of the two European standard electrical socket types. So if your item does not support this voltage or hertz, then you will need to purchase a foreign power adapter or converter.

In addition, you will either find the "Type E" and "Type F" Schuko or the "Type C" Europlug. If your electrical appliance's plug does not match the shape of these outlet sockets, then you will also need to buy a travel plug adapter in order to plug your appliance into the outlet. Travel plug adapters simply change the shape of your appliance's plug so that it will “fit” whatever type of socket you need to plug into. If your electrical item is crucial to be able to plug in no matter what, then it is probably best to bring an adapter for all three outlet types as the system in Russia can be unpredictable
